 Journal Searching

  Click on Single Citation Matcher from PubMed home page

   Begin to type journal title. Auto complete will offer suggestions

   Click on the title, then click on search

Searching for Review Articles

    Default filters for Article Types are Clinical Trials and Review

   Click on Review to limit your search to review articles

Searching for Systematic Reviews

   Click on More... under article types

   Scroll down to Systematic Reviews,check the box then click Show

   Click on Systematic Reviews to limit your search to systematic reviews

Using PMID numbers

   PMIDs are unique identifiers assigned to each article in PubMed

   PMIDs are always found at the end of a PubMed citation

   Type a PMID into the search box to retrieve the  related citation 

PubMed Shortcuts

   Search Field tags can be used as shortcuts when searching

   Example: cone biopsy[ti] searches that phrase in article titles only

Scopus

Search default is Document (topic) search. Click on Author search or Affiliation search to change.

Best source for searching authors because of Scopus Author Identifier

See Cited by in far right column of search display for # of citations to article and link to those citations.
