- iOS: Auto-Lock is enabled by going to Settings>General>Auto-Lock
- Android: Auto-Lock is enabled by going to Settings>My Device>Lock screen>Secured lock time>Instantly with the power key or when the screen times out. Then go to Settings>My Device> Display>Screen Timeout and choose how long you want the screen to stay open before it locks.
- iOS: Go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Under Automatic Downloads slide the Updates to the right to turn on this feature.
- Android: Go to the Google Play Store, tap the Menu button and go into Settings>Auto-update apps.
Google makes the process pretty easy and transparent. The downside is that apps like Google Maps and any other Google service that makes use of your location data either won't work, or they'll prompt you every time they want access to your position. If you enjoy location services but don't want everywhere you go dumped into this database, just disable Location History and leave Location Reporting enabled.
