PBL 2 - Neuro & Behavioral Health: Welcome

A guide to the PBL 2 Neurology & Behavioral health block.

Welcome to the Nervous System

Neuroscience is the science which studies anything related to the nervous system.  Neurology is the branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves and muscles.  Neurological practice relies heavily on neuroscience and the study of the nervous system.  Neuroscientists conduct research on patients and lab animals while neurologists are practicing physicians who diagnose and treat neurological diseases in humans.  Neurologists would be called on to help treat such disorders such as epilepsy, stroke, MS, Parkinson's, autism, ADD, and neuromuscular disorders.
