Pathological Eye Model

This human eye model shows an eye enlarged by a factor of 5. The didactilcally simplified representations of the retina and lens illustrates typical changes that occur in a healthy eye due to common diseases. This model can demonstrate subcapsular cataract, cortical cataract, nuclear cataract, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, papillary changes of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, papilloedema, central retinal arterial occlusion, central retinal venous occlusion, and rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.

Using Models @ Hope Brings Strength Libraries

  • Most anatomy models are kept on the table across from the Hope Brings Strength Library's service desk or on top of the short glass cabinet in the middle of the library. We ask that you return the model to its original location after use.
  • Some models (those with a lot of loose parts) are kept in the glass case beside the service desk.
  • A spine and full-sized skeleton model are available at the Sewell Learning Commons.
  • Models are tagged with QR codes which link to the correlating section of Netter Atlas of Anatomy, or in some instances an alternative text.
  • Models must be used in the library.
