Anatomical Models @ Rowan-Virtua SOM Library: Thyroid Diseases Model

Guide to Anatomy models, bones, and skeletons held by the Rowan-Virtua SOM Library.

Model Description

The thyroid diseases model lists signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism on the front and hypothyroidism on the back.  It features 3-dimensional models of a healthy thyroid gland on a neck, and thyroids with Hashimoto's disease, Grave's disease, and papillary carcinoma.  QR codes link to the relevant chapters of Williams Textbook of Endocrinology.

Using Models @ Hope Brings Strength Libraries

  • Most anatomy models are kept on the table across from the Hope Brings Strength Library's service desk or on top of the short glass cabinet in the middle of the library. We ask that you return the model to its original location after use.
  • Some models (those with a lot of loose parts) are kept in the glass case beside the service desk.
  • A spine and full-sized skeleton model are available at the Sewell Learning Commons.
  • Models are tagged with QR codes which link to the correlating section of Netter Atlas of Anatomy, or in some instances an alternative text.
  • Models must be used in the library.
