Block Description

From the Syllabus: The Rheumatology and Dermatology Block provides students with a broad-based education about immune-mediated and infectious diseases involving the skin, joints, and musculoskeletal system. This will include a continuation and extension of information learned about the immune system, the integument, musculoskeletal system, and pathogenic microorganisms, in Integrated Musculoskeletal Anatomy and Biomedical Foundations. In this block, students will begin to learn how to apply their knowledge in these areas to the prevention, diagnosis, management, and treatment of disease as it pertains to dermatologic and rheumatologic and conditions. This block also includes an introduction to medical problem solving in the form of case-based learning and a presentation on systems review as it pertains to patient history.
