Institutional Review Board (IRB) Review and Approval

Once you've determined your research question, design, and sample, you'll need IRB review and approval for your study. Essential steps in this process include:

• Review the Initial Study Checklist (PDF)
• Complete CITI Training
• Obtain an account in Cayuse and familiarize yourself with the system
  • Rowan IRT Knowledgebase Article on Cayuse
• Review Rowan-Virtua SOM IRB Policies and, if relevant, the updated guidance for projects involving Virtua Health.
• Determine the type of review that is required - Exempt, Expedited, or Full.
• Complete documentation (see Initial Study Checklist (PDF))
• Submit study for review via Cayuse
