The following are essential steps as you conduct data analysis.
- Ensure the data is securely stored. This is something the researcher would have determined in their original IRB submission. At this point, it is essential to ensure that the protocol is being followed. See the Rowan University LibGuide on Research Data Management and the Research Data Management section of the Health Sciences Library's Resources for Researchers LibGuide for more information.
- Clean the data. Data cleaning is fixing or removing incorrect, corrupted, incorrectly formatted, duplicate, or incomplete data within a dataset.
- Conduct any quantitative or qualitative processes. Based on the original research design
- Interpret results: The researcher will interpret the results of the data analysis and determine whether the research questions or hypotheses are supported.
