Guide to Using EndNote for students, faculty, and staff at Rowan University

Setting Publications Styles

EndNote has hundreds of publication styles that format references into the correct style for publication.  To use all but the most generic styles these publication styles you first need to select them from the Style Manager.

From the Tools drop down menu, go to Output Styles > Open Style Manager.

Tools > Output Styles > Open Style Manager

A new window will open listing the publications styles. Use the checkboxes to select styles.

Select publication style

Once selected in the Style Manager you can change the publication style of your references in your EndNote Library with the drop down menu found under the summary display tab.  Publication styles chosen in the Style Manager will also appear in the list of available publication styles when using Word

Don’t see the publication style you need in the Style Manager?  Additional publication styles can be downloaded from the EndNote Output Styles website.  Instructions on how to install the styles can be found on the website.
