Step by Step Sending Scopus Citations to EndNote

  • Perform your search in Scopus.
  • Check the checkbox next to each reference that you want to send to EndNote.

  • After selecting references to send to EndNote at the top of the citation list click the Export link,

  • Select EndNote (RIS) from the export options.

In Scopus you give the option to change the default fields to export to EndNote.

Internet browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.) works differently when exporting and downloading. In newer versions of Chrome look in the upper right of the browser window for the Downloads icon.

  • Once the file has completed download click the Downloads icon to display recently download files. 
  • Click the file name to send the downloaded Scopus citation(s) to EndNote.

To bypass having to click on the downloaded file in the future right click on the downloaded file and select Always open files of this type. Now when clicking the Create file button referenced above the PubMed references will directly be sent to EndNote.

The references will be exported into an open EndNote Library, and placed in EndNote’s Imported References group.
