When EndNote is installed a new “tab” is added to PowerPoint giving Endnote the ability to insert formatted citations and references within PowerPoint slides.
In PowerPoint click on the EndNote tab to display the EndNote functions.
Position the cursor where a citation needs to go in the slide.
Select the appropriate references from your EndNote library and click Insert Selected Citation OR search by keyword for a reference using Insert Citation.
Unlike in Word inserting a citation in PowerPoint does not automatically insert the corresponding reference into your presentation. The accompanying references need to either be inserted onto the same slide as the citation or on a separate slide if creating a reference list or bibliography. .
After inserting the citation position the cursor where the corresponding reference needs to go and click Insert Selected Reference OR search by keyword for the appropriate reference using Insert Reference.
The citation and reference will be inserted into the slide according to the rules of the selected output (Publication) style available in the output style drop-down menu.
EndNote Citations and references inserted into PowerPoint slides are not linked as they are in Word and can’t be reformatted to different output (Publication) styles after being inserted, They would need to be deleted from the slides and reinserted using the desired output style.
