Active Learning Tip

  • Minute Papers: (from Arizone State University) "The One-Minute Paper is a classroom assessment technique and active learning strategy that is used to collect student feedback and assess student learning about a topic. At the end of class, students respond in brief to one or two questions. Plan to allow students at least ten minutes at the end of class to respond and adjust time parameters based on student needs. Questions can be tailored based on the type of information one wishes to collect."

  • Addressing Microaggressions Online Module
    • From announcement: "The Addressing Microaggressions Module was established at Rowan-Virtua SOM to address feedback that we've received from the Foundations of DEI Certificate sessions hosted at Rowan-Virtua SOM - Individuals can recognize microaggressions when they happen. Still, they do not necessarily have the tools to address them. Additionally, when reviewing the literature of the biomedical sciences, medical education, and medical and biomedical practice, the existence and impact of microaggressions are often cited as a challenge facing both educational and professional settings."
