    • Slido Polling in PowerPoint and Google Slides - Information Sessions
      Tuesday, 10/29, 4pm-5pm OR Friday, 11/1, 12:30pm-1:30pm (Both sessions online via Webex)
      • From announcement: "Slido is an audience engagement tool available to all Rowan Faculty, Staff, and Students. It can be utilized with presentation software such as PowerPoint or Google Slides or can be used directly in Webex or Zoom. In this session we'll focus on getting started with Slido's polling features and integrating them with PowerPoint and Google Slides.   • New Jersey Health Foundation Grant Programs
    Deadline: 11/8
    • From announcement: "We are pleased to announce a new award cycle for our next New Jersey Health Foundation Grants Program.   We have committed up to $5 million in available funding for grants.   New Jersey Health Foundation awarded more than $3 million in our last cycle and over $68 million through this program since its inception."   • American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Grants
    Deadline 1/31/25
    • From announcement: "Funding is available for DOs, MDs, PhDs, and osteopathic medical students conducting studies that address the tenets of osteopathic medicine and explore the profession’s patient-centered, empathic approach to care. Key Grant Updates: Project Duration: 24 months (extended from 18 months); Student Project Duration: 12 months; Project Start Date: July 1st (revised from September 1st); Broadened Focus Areas: We have expanded our focus areas to support more projects; Translational Research: We are accepting translational research projects." Active Learning Tip

  • Just-In-Time Teaching – "Students prepare for class by reading from the textbook or using other resources posted to the web and by completing assignments (called WarmUps and Puzzles) online. These assignments often have complex answers; students’ work outside class serves as preparation for more complete work in class. The students’ answers are delivered to the instructor a few hours before class starts, allowing the instructor to adapt the lesson as needed."
