 LIBRARY UPDATE

Section description: This section will highlight important news or updates from the Rowan University Libraries or the Hope Brings Strength Health Sciences LIbrary.

LibKey and Predatory Journal Alerts

  • Third Iron, the makers of LibKey, has partnered with Cabells to integrate predatory journal information with LibKey and LibKey Nomad. This new integration will alert you to the fact that you are visiting a suspected predatory journal website.

If you have not already done so, installing the LibKey Nomad browser extension will greatly simplify how you access library resources. Libkey Nomad is a browser extension compatible with Chrome, FireFox, and Edge; those faculty members who work with PHI will not be able to add the extension to Chrome on Rowan-managed computers but can use one of the other browsers.  Once installed, you can download full text from any publisher Rowan subscribes to wherever that article is found; this means that you will not have to go back through the library website!  It is super simple to install, and there is no need to create an account.

Once installed, LibKey automatically integrates with our library search and PubMed; allowing you to immediately download available PDFs without having to click around to other sites. You can then import the PDF into EndNote and keep better track of the articles you’ve viewed.
