Announcements

  • Congratulations!Recent Department Chairperson Appointments
    • Alison Mancuso, DO, FACOFP will assume the role as chair of Department of Family Medicine, after serving in an interim capacity since 2023. Dr. Mancuso has served as the residency program director for Family Medicine since 2014 and as the vice chair since 2017. As chair, Dr. Mancuso hopes to advance all mission areas of Rowan-Virtua SOM, including excellence in patient care, education and research. Dr. Mancuso plans to continue the great work of her predecessors, while also working to innovate our clinical practice and academic teams.
    • James Bailey, DO, FAAPMR will assume the role as chair of the NeuroMusculoskeletal Institute, after serving in an interim role for the past year. As chair, Dr. Bailey will continue the great work started by his predecessor and founder of the NMI, Dr. Richard Jermyn. His vision includes educating students, patients, and other providers on safe and effective multidisciplinary chronic pain management, expanding access to care for the underserved populations including those with substance use disorder, and disseminating awareness about osteopathic principles and practice. 
  • Run4Rowan5K 2024
    • In 2021, 2022, and 2023, the RowanSOM Team won awards for the highest number of race registrants. In 2024, I hope we can keep that tradition going with the Rowan-Virtua SOM Team. As a runner and a first-generation student, I’m excited about the upcoming Run for Rowan 5k (onsite or virtual). I’ve created a Rowan-Virtua SOM Team on the registration website and hope you will join me. Please note that our team consists of runners, joggers, walkers, strollers, etc. - All are welcome.

  • Rowan University President’s Award for Excellence in Innovative Instructional Delivery
    Nominations Due: 3/1/24
    • From announcement: "The President’s Award for Excellence in Innovative Instructional Delivery is designed to recognize faculty who have gone above and beyond to adapt to an ever-changing classroom environment, or who have provided outstanding contributions to online learning via coursework, programs, or certificates. Each academic year, one $1000 award is given to an individual, and one $2000 award is given to a team." More information and to submit an application
  • Save the Date - Rowan Teaching Connection (RTC)
    • Great Ideas for Teaching Students (GIFTS)
      4/12, 9am-12pm, Glassboro Campus
      • From announcement: "Rowan GIFTS is an annual conference facilitated by the Rowan Teaching Connection (RTC) and sponsored by the Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. The purpose of this conference is to provide faculty and graduate students with opportunities to engage in in-house professional development and conversations around high-impact teaching strategies. Presenters engage participants in an 8-10 minute demo of a favorite teaching activity, assignment, or technique that has had an effect on their teaching and their students' experience in their class. These GIFTS are open enough to be adoptable and adaptable across disciplines."
