NJHF has committed up to $4 million in available funding for grants. Over $2 million was awarded in the last cycle and over $65 million since the program's inception."

  • NBME: Emerging Innovators Grant Program
    Due: 10/8/23
    • From announcement: "To empower aspiring leaders looking to make a lasting impact in medical education, NBME is piloting the new Emerging Innovators Grant Program. This grant is intended to support early- and mid-career medical education faculty or staff who share our commitment to advancing equitable practices which foster a diverse and inclusive medical community. We seek projects that promote innovative thinking and push the boundaries of medical education and assessment locally and/or nationally.
           NBME will fund up to $25,000 in total for each accepted proposal. Four proposals that can be completed within a 1-2-year timeframe will be selected. Grants will be awarded to medical schools accredited by the LCME or the AOA/COCA; applications are accepted from principal investigators with appointments at LCME- and AOA/COCA-accredited medical schools."

      • The number of college students presenting with issues related to mental health continues to rise, and, as a result, faculty are encountering more students with mental health concerns. We recognize that faculty might struggle to know if, when, and how to intervene. In this presentation, we will discuss the signs that a student may be struggling and concrete ways for faculty to address those concerns.

    • From Description: "On behalf of the Rowan University DEI Council and our colleagues within Rowan University Libraries, we are pleased to share information regarding the upcoming Design Thinking for DEI and Social Justice Projects Workshop for the Rowan community. Part 1 of the workshop takes place on Friday, October 6 from 10am to 11am (registration link); and Part 2 on Friday, October 27 from 10am to 11am (registration link). Both workshop portions are available cost-free, in-person at the Campbell Library on the Glassboro campus, or virtually via Zoom.

  • Addressing Microaggressions Online Module
    • From announcement: "The Addressing Microaggressions Module was established at Rowan-Virtua SOM to address feedback that we've received from the Foundations of DEI Certificate sessions hosted at Rowan-Virtua SOM - Individuals can recognize microaggressions when they happen. Still, they do not necessarily have the tools to address them. Additionally, when reviewing the literature of the biomedical sciences, medical education, and medical and biomedical practice, the existence and impact of microaggressions are often cited as a challenge facing both educational and professional settings."
